Energy

Energy independence must become the cornerstone of our Economic Freedom.

Energy Independence for the United States is a core and fundamental need if the country is going to pull out of its growing economic crisis.  National Debt and the endlessly growing Federal Budget has become a relentless problem since our national balance of trade fell from positive numbers following WWII to negative numbers during the Jimmy Carter years.  Energy is, and has been, the single largest factor in this trade imbalance and decline.  The relentless, flawed policies inflicted on us by Progressives, Liberals, and Environmentalists are the focus of this section of the website, along with the changes we must quickly bring about to halt the assault on the hopes and dreams of all working Americans.

Key Talking Points

  • ⋅ Energy independence is the solution to America’s economic recovery
  • ⋅ Energy dependence puts America at great risk financially and in National Security
  • ⋅ Our Energy independence is being killed by Progressives, Liberals and Environmentalists
  • ⋅ Our current energy policy and over-regulation is killing jobs for all Americans

9.23.2012 | Energy Terrorism

The foundations of our economy are being threatened by actions in Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Egypt and other radical Islamic nation-states.  We also face embassy and consulate demonstrations in India and Australia by anti-American extremists. Our political leadership in Washington is seemingly developing a policy and strategy from a familiar position…from behind!  The cost of this [...]

7.31.2012 | It’s No Joke: Bizarre U.S. Energy Policies Defy Logic

You wake up and hear on the news that the Government is going to start powering their Navy ships with $26-a-gallon biofuel.  Then you read that the EPA is fining oil refiners for not using a “green” additive that hasn’t been produced yet. You check the calendar to make sure it’s not April Fools’ Day.  [...]

6.28.2012 | Unlocking the Future: North Dakota’s Energy Boom

The topic of oil is an old one, but is becoming more popular in conversations in Congress and across the U.S. It is virtually impossible to read articles about the state of the economy and not hear about oil, jobs, energy, and North Dakota. Oil producing states are featured in the news because of their [...]

6.1.2012 | We Have a “Fracking” Choice for Energy Autonomy

Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to “frack” with?  Huh?  I had heard but not understood the term “fracking” until I read a recent article in the Wall Street Journal.  Fracking is the process of pumping water, sand or chemicals into the earth at high pressures to displace or dislodge oil or natural gas [...]

4.2.2012 | Does Obama Agree with Chu?

The price of crude oil rose from $38.57 per barrel when President Obama took office in early 2009, to over $107 as of March, 2012.[1]  As you can imagine, a 177% increase gets people’s attention. Given that 68% of the price of gasoline is the crude oil cost, the gas prices you and I pay [...]

3.28.2012 | The Green Energy Gamble

Recent headlines scream with grim news: over $15 trillion in national debt and growing, and little to no economic growth. The really depressing topic right now is gas prices rising to near record levels with no end in sight. Oil is connected to virtually every aspect of our lives (e.g. food, transportation, clothing, medicine) and [...]

2.16.2012 | Energy, Energy Everywhere but Not a Drop to Use

Two friends were talking about building a fire to cook their meal and stay warm while on a camping trip in the woods.  The first friend said, “Let’s gather all the wood from dead limbs and fallen trees laying right here near our campsite to start the fire, and we’ll be eating in no time!” [...]

2.2.2012 | That 70’s Showdown

Bell-bottoms. Perms for men. Mood rings. Polyester leisure suits. These are just a few of the fads of the 1970’s that many of us are happy to see in the rear view mirror of life.  As painful as it is to see oneself in those old fashion photos, that pain is nothing compared to the [...]

1.28.2012 | How Many Light Bulbs Does it Take…

Step one: Have people and pets leave the room, and avoid the breakage area on the way out. Step two: Open a window or door to the outdoors and leave the room for 5-10 minutes. Step three: Shut off the central forced-air heating/air conditioning (H&AC) system, if you have one. Step four: Collect materials you [...]

1.22.2012 | Light on the Department of Energy Loans

“Hope. Change We Can Believe In. Transparency.” These were the words in the 2008 election that spoke to the hearts of millions. Americans knew deep down within their souls that business in Washington D.C. was not being run in the way that it should be, and they wanted it to change. They wanted honesty, fairness, [...]
